Hunter Biden's lawyers will announce today whether he will testify in gun trial


Hunter Biden's lawyers said Friday they would announce on Monday whether he would testify in his own defense. testing his gun has entered its second week.

The second charge is for allegedly illegally possessing a gun, with Hallie Biden possessing the weapon for 11 days before finding and discarding it. Hunter Biden has pleaded not guilty to the charges.

Prosecutors closed their case against President Biden's only surviving son on Friday after testimony from Hunter Biden's ex-wife Kathleen Buhle, his former girlfriend Zoe Kesten and Hallie Biden, the widow of his brother Beau Biden and with whom Hunter Biden was also romantically involved after his brother's death in 2015. Cleveland said in testimony that he was not confused about the form when Hunter Biden sold him a firearm in October 2018.

Hallie Biden testified that Hunter Biden was using drugs in October 2018 when he bought the gun, and prosecutors showed texts that said he was “falling asleep in the car smoking crack.” But Naomi Biden testified that her father “seemed great” in late October 2018 and that she found no drug paraphernalia when she borrowed his truck.

While Hunter Biden's history of addiction is well known — he wrote about it in his memoir, “Beautiful Things” — Hunter Biden's attorney Lowell has tried to raise questions about whether he intentionally left information off the disclosure form. In his opening statement, Lowell said many addicts are in “denial” about their drug use, and he also argued that Hunter Biden did not consider himself an addict when he purchased the gun.

Naomi Biden testified that she knew her father “struggled with addiction,” and that “after my uncle (Beau Biden) died, things got worse.” But she said he never used illegal drugs in front of her, and she acknowledged she never saw what her father looked like while taking drugs.
