Disneyland employee dies after falling from moving golf cart at theme park

A Disneyland employee died after suffering head injuries when he fell from a moving golf cart at the Anaheim theme park.

The woman was identified as Bonnie Mavis Lear, 60, of Fullerton, according to Orange County coroner's spokesman Sgt. Frank Gonzalez.

Around 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, June 5, authorities were called to a report of a crash in the area of ​​West Ball Road and South West Street at Disneyland’s private Club 33.

When police arrived at the scene, they found that Lear had fallen from the moving golf cart and had suffered a head injury. She was taken to the hospital and died from her injuries on Friday, according to the Anaheim Police Department.

Disneyland Resort Chairman Ken Potrock offered his condolences and said the company was focused on supporting his family and co-workers.

Disneyland Resort President Ken Potrock said, “We are saddened by Bonnie's loss and offer our heartfelt condolences to all who cared for her.” His statement added, “We are focused on supporting her family and our cast members during this tragic event and making sure they have all the resources they need.”

Lear worked in membership support services at Club 33, a members-only restaurant and lounge located in the New Orleans Square area of ​​the park.
